Paula Abdul critiques imaginary performance on American Idol

Paula Abdul became a little confused–or perhaps clairvoyant–during last night’s episode of American Idol.

While critiquing contestant, Jason Castro, Abdul got hung up on Castro’s “second song”–which he hadn’t performed yet.

“Um, the second song, I felt like your usual charm, it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty” Abdul noted. “The two songs made me feel like you’re not fighting hard enough to get into the top four.”

Idol Judge, Randy Jackson gently reminded Abdul that “They’ve just done the first song though. Just the first one, “ to which Abdul responded, “I thought you–Oh my god, I thought you sang twice!…You know what, this is hard!”

Abdul also addressed contestant, Syesha Mercado as “Brooke” during another portion of the show.

Judge Simon Cowell noted at the end of the episode that “This is officially the strangest show we’ve ever done.”
