No corporate sponsors for Star Jones’ divorce

UN-LOVE JONES: Star to divorce (Photo: TruTV)

Former district attorney and co-host of The View, Star Jones, has filed for divorce from banker Al Reynolds after nearly four years of marriage.

Jones hasn’t cited a reason for the split, although rumors questioning Al Reynolds’ sexuality have been making the rounds in tabloids and on the Internet for years.

Jones told Entertainment Tonight that she doesn’t plan on inviting the media into her divorce as she did with her corporate-sponsored wedding to Reynolds. “A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts,” she told the show.

Jones is reportedly outside of the country, seeking refuge from the media onslaught.

Jones’ over-the-top wedding ceremony featured a horse-drawn carriage, and was attended by 500 guests and corporate sponsors whom Jones plugged on The View.

The exchange of corporate promotion for wedding sponsorship reportedly caused friction between Jones and The View matriarch, Barbara Walters. Jones left the show in 2006.
