International pop superstar Kylie Minogue, whose popularity rivals Madonna's outside of North America, kicks off her first U.S. and Canadian tour in Oakland on September 30, with a Canadian stop in Toronto on October 9.

“I’ve wanted to tour in America and Canada for years and know that fans have been waiting a long time for this," said Minogue in a statement. “I’m thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived.”

Tickets will go on sale in each market on the weekend of May 15, with more ticket information to follow from promoter Live Nation.  Members of Kylie.com's mailing list will receive an email that contains information of special ticket pre-sale offers.

Over the course of her 20-year-career, Minogue has sold more than 40 million albums sold worldwide. Her best-known hit singles include “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” "The Locomotion" and “Love At First Sight.” Her most recent single, "All I See" was released in March 2008 and peaked at #81 on the Canadian Hot 100 music chart.

Minogue has performed eight sold-out world tours in her career, including last year’s KylieX2008 tour which traveled to 21 countries throughout Europe, South America, Dubai, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, generating and estimated $70,000,000 in ticket sales.
