Academy Award-nominated actor Heath Ledger was buried this weekend in a private ceremony in Perth, Australia.
Ledger, 28, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Jan. 22 to the shock of the entertainment industry.
On Feb. 6, following an earlier inconclusive autopsy, the New York City medical examiner found that Ledger had died of an inadvertent overdose of prescription drugs.
Among the drugs found in his system were painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.
Ledger, best known for his roles in Brokeback Mountain, The Patriot and the upcoming Batman sequel The Dark Knight, reportedly had been struggling with insomnia and respiratory illness at the time of his death.
Ledger leaves behind a two-year-old daughter, Matilda, from a relationship with former fiancé, actress Michelle Williams.
