Journalist Suhana Meharchand, a long-time host on CBC News Network, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 53-year-old shared the news on Twitter yesterday and asked viewers for “positive thoughts” and “a smile.”
Meharchand was born in Durban, South Africa and raised in Toronto.
Previous to her hosting duties on CBC News Network, she anchored CBC Toronto’s local newscast for five years. She also worked for CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario and CJOH in Ottawa.
