George Stroumboulopoulos is teaming up with Apple Music to present House of Strombo, a 10-episode concert series available to stream on YouTube.

The black-and-white series features different acts performing in Stroumboulopoulos’ Toronto home. It’s a format similar to his CBC Radio 2 show.

“The bands set-up right in my living room, with a live audience packing the place,” Stroumboulopoulos said in a news release. “Lights, smoke machines and amplifiers stacked high — it’s every gig in a small space that you’ve ever loved, with the best bands in the world.”

The first episode features A Tribe Called Red, the critically-acclaimed Indigenous DJ collective.

Stroumboulopoulos was a former MuchMusic host, and for 10 years, hosted a popular talk show on CBC Television. Most recently, he hosted Hockey Night in Canada for two years when it moved from CBC to Rogers Media, but was replaced by veteran sports broadcaster Ron MacLean in the third season.
