Comedian Howie Mandel will emcee the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards, Canada’s most prestigious film, digital media and English-language TV.

The gala awards show will be in Toronto and will air March 12, 2017 on CBC.

“I don’t only look at it as honoring the best in Canadian entertainment, but more importantly, I am so excited about the free trip home!” Mandel said in a statement.

The Canadian Screen Awards has 116 categories in total. There are 22 film categories, 89 television categories, and five digital media categories. All Canadian films, regardless of language, are eligible to receive awards in the film categories. However, only English-language productions are eligible for television categories.
