Lives Lived: Garry Shandling, 66, actor-comedian

Actor-comedian Garry Shandling, best known for his groundbreaking TV comedies It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and The Larry Sanders Show, died today, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. According to celebrity news site TMZ, Shandling had a heart attack. He was 66 years old.

Shandling’s influential Larry Sanders Show was a comedy about a fictional late night talk show host, and the show behind the show. The series influenced many after it, including Tina Fey’s 30 Rock.
