Prince to publish memoirs in 2017

Prince has been prolific lately, releasing two albums a year in both 2014 and 2015 — and now he’s adding a memoir to his busy schedule.

Tentatively titled The Beautiful Ones, the 57-year-old musician is working with publishers Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

“The good people at Random House made me an offer I can’t refuse,” Prince told an audience at a New York City club performance on Friday.

“This is my first (book),” he continued. “My brother Dan is helping me with it. He’s a good critic and that’s what I need. He’s not a ‘yes’ man at all and he’s really helping me get through this.

“We’re starting from the beginning from my first memory, and hopefully we can go all the way up to the Super Bowl.”

According to a press release from Penguin Random House, the book “will take readers on an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work.”

The book is scheduled to be published in fall of 2017.
