Left-field pop star Róisín Murphy is returning with a new album, Take Her Up To Monto, available on July 8. The first music video “Ten Miles High” is directed by Murphy herself.
Take Her Up To Monto comes just a little over a year since Murphy’s last release, Hairless Toys, which debuted at #19 in the UK album charts and was nominated for the 2015 Mercury Music Prize.
If “Ten Miles High” and the promo single “Mastermind” are any indication, Murphy continues her experimental EDM mixed with idiosyncratic vocals and lyrics.
Murphy first became known in the 1990s as one half of the electronic music duo Moloko, which released numerous top 10 singles in the UK, including “Sing it Back” and “The Time is Now”. Since then, she’s released three studio albums as a solo artist.
